Peninsula Center for Infant and Toddler Development
In 2002, Early Development Services opened the first and only development facility designed specifically for infants and toddlers on the Monterey Peninsula. Peninsula Center for Infant and Toddler Development cares for up to 44 infants and toddlers each day. The facility underwent a complete remodeling in 2008 which further reduced our group sizes to maintain our low ratios of one teacher to 3 children. Peninsula has four classrooms which are divided to create safe spaces for non-mobile, mobile, young toddlers, and older toddlers.
Avondale Child Development Center
In 2003, Early Development Services expanded and relocated it’s flagship center to Hayes Educational Center on the former Fort Ord. Avondale Child Development Center’s new location allows us to operate a school age program, a part day Prekindergarten Literacy Program, and 4 full day classrooms. The facility maintains a ratio of 1 adult to every 4 children in our 2 year old program, 1 adult to every 8 children in our preschool programs, and 1 adult to every 10 children in our school age program.
Highlands Early Education Center
In 2006, Early Development Services opened Highlands Early Education Center on the elementary school campus of Highlands Elementary School. We renovated a portable building and installed custom playgrounds for each program. This center is the first facility to link infants with their older siblings as children from 12 months to entry 1st grade can be served in the same location as their siblings in elementary school.
CSU Monterey Bay
In 2009, Early Development Services joined in partnership with California State University Monterey Bay to open a child development center that serves the students, staff, and faculty of the University. We expanded the facility to serve children from 12 months to entry kindergarten in three separate classrooms.
